Argument- We are all mentally ill that people outside of mental institutions hide it better. We are daring the nightmare.
His argument is basically that we watch horror movies basically because we have to satisfy the beast that is within us, we have to be able to feed it so that it doesn't act out in a crazy way. he says we all have the ability to be a killer we all can do it but we do different things to maintain the beast. he really didn't put a opposition but he just agues more with some quotes but much of it is his thoughts.
- Paragraph One- he talks about all the fears that one person can have and we other people cant see them because we hide it so well.
- Paragraph Two- this is basically his argument that he is going to write about.
- Paragraph Three- In this paragraph he talks about how we face a movie and how a roller coaster usually younger kids like that but as you get older the same thrill isn't the same
- Paragraph Four- so we go to horror movies to seem normal and that doing things that are normal still show our ugliness
- Paragraph Five- I think that he is trying to say that we crave to see the things that are like combat and everything.
- Paragraph Six- this paragraph talks about the relief that our emotions get from the black and white that you see in a scary movie it helps our emotions.
- Paragraph Seven- he talks about us all being insane and how we clap about it but then he talks about how if our insanity makes us talk to ourselves then we are considered weird
- Paragraph Eight- he talks about how we can all be killers it in all of us we all have a dark passenger and that it demands for us to act on it and we all do different things to maintain that demand.
- Paragraph Nine- how as kids we see parents do all these nice things but once we do one thing wrong we get spankings and in trouble.
- Paragraph Ten- we all share our insanity
- Paragraph Eleven- scary movies appeal to the worst in us
- Paragraph Twelve- that we can show love but we always have to keep the dark passenger satisfied.
